I love writing secret baby stories! One of the reasons that I enjoy writing them so much is that they are all so different. I am thrilled to have written my 100^th book for Harlequin and what better way to celebrate than with not just one secret baby but two!

 

My new book out this month, The Innocent’s Secret Baby follows the story of Raul and Lydia. He is gorgeous, dark and brooding and doesn’t even like babies—in fact Raul requests that a crying baby is moved out of earshot during their first meeting! Not an ideal memory to have when poor Lydia finds out that she is expecting.One thing that surprised me (and Lydia) was how Raul rose to the challenge when he found out he was about to be a father. Yes, he and Lydia might just be ships that passed in the night but he is determined to do the right thing by his baby and the mother of his child. Lydia, of course, wants a little more than just that.

 

Then, for my Medical Romance release, there is a secret royal baby that I had sooo much fun with. Forever I have had an opening scene in my mind of a doctor being called to deliver a baby, only to find out that the baby is his. I simply could not work it into a story though…. Now I have.

 

Beth and Elias are a wonderful couple. She is a daughter of the manse—a minister’s daughter, so you can just imagine how well her parents took the news! Elias is, unbeknown to Beth, a royal prince and his parents were equally unimpressed when they found out!

 

Secret babies provide a wonderful timeline. For Raul and Lydia, I wanted their relationship to be sorted before the arrival of their baby. In Elias and Beth’s case they have a window of time, before the birth is registered and the world finds out a princess has been born, to focus on their very new family and to see if they can make their romance work.

 

While it might be autumn in Australia, it is spring on the side of the globe I was born and so what better way to welcome March than with two gorgeous secret baby stories!
