October marks Black History Month in the UK and Ireland, the annual celebration of the continued achievements and contributions of Black people in the UK.
Throughout the month we will be highlighting recent and forthcoming books by incredible Black writers, speaking to some of our Black writers about their journey to (and since) becoming a published author and asking our book community what representation in fiction means to them.
Each year, there is a theme for Black History month and this year, it’s ‘Black Health and Wellness’. This will put a spotlight on Black medical professionals throughout history. You can find out more on the Black History Month website here.
Black History Month provides us with a great opportunity to reflect on today’s society. We’re thrilled to be celebrating the contributions of our Black writers and we support multiculturalism and diversity in publishing. After all, everyone should feel represented in the books they read.
