Love to Write: Meet the Judges for our brand-new romance writing competition!

As we approach the shortlist announcement for our Love to Write competition, we’re excited to introduce the judges of our search for a brand-new voice in romance.

We’ve partnered with Love Island 2019 winner, Amber Rose Gill to find new romance writers from under-represented ethnic backgrounds.

The winner of Love to Write will receive a book contract, a grant and a mentorship with an editor! Find out more about the competition here.

Meet the Judges

Nic Caws | @NicolaCaws

Nic Caws is an Editor for Mills & Boon. Nic started at Mills & Boon in 2013 where she promptly fell headlong into a love affair with category romance. She’s always looking for unique, gripping voices with fresh twists and perspectives on popular themes for the Modern, Historical, Medical and True Love lines. When she doesn’t have her nose buried in a book, she can be found seeking her next theatre fix, listening to podcasts, or baking!

Nic says: The Love to Write mentorship is an exciting opportunity for an author to achieve their writing goals – helping that happen is my favourite part of my job! It’s also one more step towards ensuring all readers can see themselves reflected in the authors and books Mills & Boon publishes.

Amber Rose Gill | @AmberRoseGill

Since winning Love Island, Amber Rose Gill has established herself as one the Nation’s favourite TV stars.

She has since proven herself to be an influential entrepreneur who has launched her own fitness business AmberFlexx and a premium skincare brand. Amber is a firm favourite for global brands and she is the face of numerous campaigns.

Her TV career continues to flourish as she works with ITV to bring greater awareness of mental health to young people.

Amber says: I’ve really enjoyed being a part of the Love to Write judging panel. It’s such a great opportunity for young aspiring writers. There’s so many young talented writers out there and I’ve loved reading their submissions. Competitions like Love to Write are so important as they create an avenue for people to explore their talent while giving them a writing platform for their work to be seen
