This holiday season, we asked a bunch of Mills & Boon authors to share some of their favourite festive movies! Read on for some heartwarming recommendations that are sure to get you into the Christmas spirit…

Santa Claus is Coming to Town, hands down! My favourite scene is the one at the end when Kris and Jessica get married on the night of most profound love and Warlock says, “Please, just a little magic, one last time” so he can make the forest beautiful for the wedding. Oh, it just gets me every time and has since 1974. I think I’m tearing up a little even now….
We get together as a family every year on Christmas Eve to watch White Christmas. My mom started this tradition and now she’s gone, we do it in her memory. And it’s a wonderful movie!
Love Actually (because my best friend watches it every Christmas morning). Die Hard (because it IS a Christmas movie) and Star Wars; A New Hope (because it’s a family tradition).
Every year I HAVE to watch Love Actually. I think it might be the law, to be honest 😁
Most of the Christmas movies we watch at my place are kids’ movies; Elf, The Grinch, Home Alone. So how wondrous was the absolute gift of the delightful, heartachey, heart-warmy Last Christmas, well, last Christmas? It will be getting a work out in my house this December, for sure.
I am such an addict of feel good Christmas Romance movies that I’m pretty much addicted to the Christmas movie channels that pop up from November. However, my absolute favourite is The Holiday, starring Kate Winslet, Jack Black, Cameron Diaz and Jude Law because you get two gorgeous romances for the price of one. Yes, I know there are even more interwoven in Love Actually (which I also adore), but there is something delightful about the way the characters are all so lost one Christmas, and yet the unexpected arrival of love saves them.
While You Were Sleeping! I love the sweet gooeyness of Sandra Bullock falling for her pretend soon-to-be brother-in-law. The chemistry between Lucy and Jack makes me swoon every time. As a bonus, the cheeky grandmother always reminds me of my own, and for a few minutes I feel close to her again too.
I find myself watching The Holiday and Love Actually over and over. I love all the Christmas and romance feel-goods both these movies give me. Both make me cry, laugh, and fall in love with my husband all over again.
I really enjoy watching ‘A Shoe Addict’s Christmas.’ Take a fancy department store, beautiful shoes and getting locked in during a snowstorm, only to find yourself running into the ghost of Christmas Past, Present and Future. Oh, and did I mention the handsome firefighter hero?
My favourite has to be the Holiday. Both romances are so well done, plus Jude Law, Cameron Diaz, Jack Black , and the lovely Kate Winslet! Even without the snow and the cottage, it’s already a winner!
My all-time favorite Christmas movie is White Christmas. I’ve watched it my entire life. Holiday in Handcuffs is so funny and has it all right down to the crazy grandmother. The Holiday is another great one. Any of these are worth watching any time of the year.
I’m a sucker for Hallmark movies especially at Christmas – my favorite one that I rewatch all the time is A Christmas To Remember – a classic amnesia romance story with Cameron Mathieson…sigh….Can’t wait!
I’m laughing that we’ll call it “festive” but we like to watch Die Hard at Christmas. The holiday setting gives it even more urgency. I recently noticed that it was based on a novel called Nothing Lasts Forever by Roderick Thorp. Might be a fun read sometime.
