Our most romantic destinations!

Our writers share their most romantic destinations and moments! From sharing a seafood paella in Cordoba, to enjoying a Jazz festival in New Orleans, these are sure to melt your hearts!

  • Memories making a story: My husband and I shared seafood paella in Cordoba. It was perfect, unlike my current heroine’s first attempt at baking in a hunting lodge nearby… Later, in Seville, the Princess stays in the gorgeous Real Alcazar, a Spanish palace modelled on the Alhambra – Carol Townend
  • Paris is where my 50th book, A Wife Worth Investing In opens, and my characters find themselves lost in each other against the most romantic backdrop imaginable. The glittering Seine flowing below the Pont Neuf, cello music floating in the air from the floodlit Louvre, a couple sipping champagne. Fiction? No, utterly delightful fact. Sante – Marguerite Kaye
  • A destination wedding in Greece sounds like a good idea – until the groom runs away! My hero and heroine in Island Fling with the Tycoon are only supposed to be guests at the wedding, but they’re tasked with finding the runaway groom. Soon they discover that gorgeous Greek islands are the perfect setting for a fling… – Therese Beharrie
  • For me, there’s nowhere more romantic than the beautiful Mourne Mountains in Co Down, Ireland – the inspiration for CS Lewis’s Narnia. I’m lucky to live nearby, and have frequently enjoyed fabulous walks along the Fairy Glen, or up to the Big Stone (said to have been thrown in a fight between giants). Walking, talking, and simply being together in peaceful surroundings is just about as romantic as it gets! – Catherine Tinley
  • Kerala, India: Riding on the back of an Indian elephant though evergreen forest as hornbills and wagtails flew around has to be one of the most romantic moments I’ve ever had. Of all my foreign trips, the Keralan people count as the happiest, smiliest, kindest and loveliest.  Who couldn’t fall in love in such a beautiful place? – Bella Frances
  • Or Scottish Highlands: Imagine waking up in the wilderness.  You unzip your front door to reveal a waterfall, a beautiful sandy beach, calm blue sea and a smear of blue sky. Sheep are grazing on the hill behind. Your dog stretches and yawns and falls asleep again on the grass, and smiling, your partner passes you an enamel mug of freshly brewed coffee. You are all alone. You have never been happier.  You are totally, hopelessly in love – Bella Frances
  • I was once lucky enough to be whisked away to the Jazz Festival in New Orleans. We stayed in the old quarter, walked cobbled streets, ate incredible food, listened to amazing music and all my memories are hazed with a beautiful bronze sunset and a sultry gaze from the guy at the time. Truly fabulous! – Pippa Roscoe
