We are proud to announce the shortlist for the Mills & Boon and Prima Flirty Fiction writing competition.
At the beginning of the year Prima magazine announced our Flirty Fiction writing competition to help us in our quest to find the next best-selling Mills & Boon author. Open to all aspiring writers, we just asked that they let their imaginations fly, put pens to paper (or fingers to keypads) and write the opening chapter to the most romantic modern love story they could think of.
We had hundreds of fabulous entries and the judges had a wonderful time reading them all, but then they faced the unenviable challenge of having to whittle them down to a shortlist of ten. There were many sleepless nights, bitten finger nails and heated discussions but they have managed it and we are delighted to reveal who they are (in no particular order):
Aimée Duffy – One Night in Peru
Emma Billingsley – In Search of Silver Linings
Jackie Ladbury – The Allure of a Stranger
Jessica Jackson – Love by Design
Melanie Woodgate – The Captain’s House
Myfanwy Griffiths – Perfect Timing
Rachael Mills – The Chocolate Teapot
Rachel Louise Dove – The Chic Boutique on Baker Street
Sarah Purdue – Finding His Eliza
Vicky McIntyre – Second Time Around
Over the next six weeks we will be featuring each of the shortlisted authors on our website. The winner and the first chapter of their book will be exclusively revealed in the August issue of Prima magazine available from 3 July 2015. The winning book will be published next year by Mills & Boon.
The judging panel for the Mills & Boon Prima Flirty Fiction competition are Gaby Huddart, Prima Editor; Karen Swayne, Prima Features Editor; Amisha Surani, Prima Assistant Editor (Features); Cathy Rentzenbrink, Books Editor; Anna Bagley, Mills & Boon Editor and popular author Sarah Morgan.
