International Book Giving Day – Friday 14th Feb

Cancel the sky writing, don’t order that giant teddy bear, the only gift you need to share this Valentine’s is a book.

This Friday sees the annual return of International Book Giving Day – a day designed to celebrate the love of a good book by sharing your new, used or borrowed book with a child. How you share your book of choice is up to you – donate them to charity, hand them over to your local library, or simply buy one for your favourite little scamp. All you need to do is print out a bookplate on the Book Giving Day website and you’re all set to share!

It’s got us thinking about our favourite children’s books, what were yours when you were growing up? I’ve gone for Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak or The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. Beautiful books, full of imagination and adventure!

You can follow all the action from IBGD on their Twitter feed – @bookgivingday
