Remembering Jane Godman

We are very sad to share the news that longtime Mills & Boon author Amanda Anders (who wrote as Jane Godman and Jane Stewart) has passed away. Amanda wrote erotic romance for Carina Press, paranormal romance for Nocturne and romantic suspense for Mills & Boon Heroes. She won the Libertà Prize for the Shorter Romantic Novel at the 2019 Romantic Novel Association Awards for her Heroes novel, Secret Baby, Second Chance.

A deeply talented author, Amanda could turn from one subgenre to another with the deftest turn of her pen. She was generous of spirit and time, a truly gentle soul that radiated kindness, joy in life, and a wickedly quick wit. As her editor, I had the good fortune of not just working with her for years, but also to meet her in person at the 2019 Romance Writers of America conference in New York. It was one of my great pleasures to be able to converse deeply about our shared loves of romance, traveling, England and Wales, and terrier dogs.

Amanda adored her family more than anything else, and I know they are so proud of the many wonderful books she shared with the world. As a woman, as an author, and as a friend, she is irreplaceable, and I will always cherish the years during which I worked with her.
