We’re thrilled to announce that we received over 50 submissions for the Romance Includes You mentorship opportunity by the 31st July deadline! Huge congratulations to all applicants. Mills & Boon sends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who shared their stories with us.
Wasting no time, the Mills & Boon editorial team are busy reading your submissions. We will review all eligible entries and plan to announce a shortlist at the start of September. Shortlisted submissions will then proceed to final judging, and the top submission will be selected. We hope to announce the 2026 recipient of the mentorship prize at the start of October.
In addition to picking the top submission, editors will be on the lookout for other promising voices with potential to write for Mills & Boon. These voices will be contacted directly after the competition ends.

The Romance Includes You Mentorship supports increased diversity in the romance genre by welcoming submissions by authors in underrepresented communities. For the writer of the top submission, Mills & Boon is offering a publishing contract for their debut novel, a writing grant, and the opportunity to work with an editor to develop their story for publication during a one-year mentorship.
