When I first came up with the idea of my Sin City Nurses books, it was because Las Vegas was on my bucket list as somewhere I always wanted to visit. My husband surprised me with a trip there earlier this year and getting to walk in Jasmine’s footsteps was a dream come true. Though thankfully I didn’t end up getting married on a drunken whim as she does in Nurse’s Vegas Vows!
Writing this book was a lot of fun. A milestone for Jasmine and I, as I recently celebrated my 50th birthday. We both took a trip along the Extraterrestrial Highway looking for aliens at Area 51 with a handsome counterpart, though I didn’t do it in an RV!
Unlike the controlling ex Jas left at the altar a year ago, handsome paramedic Wyatt is supportive and caring along their journey. Though being married to someone like quirky Jas seems far from the settled family life he craves, as they spend time together waiting for their marriage annulment, everything starts to feel right.

Choosing my favourite type of hero is akin to choosing my favourite dessert (or child), but if I really was forced, I would have to admit a very soft spot for creme caramels, and brooding Italian billionaires. From when I first started reading Mills & Boon, these heroes just screamed alpha male wealth and glamour, and when I started thinking about this book, I wanted to write a story that was an homage to my favourite type of fictional man.

And like the very best heroes, he’s motivated by a (deeply hidden) heart of gold. As for the kind of woman who can bring such a devil to his knees? I wrote my first (unpublished and wisely-rejected!) Mills & Boon when I was 14, and yes, my hero was Italian. This book feels like a home-coming, in so many ways. I hope you love it as much as I do.

I had so much fun writing Thomas and Louisa’s story and my favourite part was creating Louisa’s garden sanctuary.
Imagine a formal English garden at the top of a hill. The night air is scented with lavender. There is a bench where you can sit and enjoy the view of the countryside and the standing stones at the foot of the slope. Step between them and you might find a whole new world…
Or maybe it’s just the path that will take you to the village.
I am allergic to almost everything and have a black thumb and a short attention span. When I’ve tried to garden in real life, my good intentions never last long enough to finish a flower bed. But I am quite pleased with the way Louisa’s garden turned out and I didn’t even have to water it.

But from that, Tom and Charlie simply danced onto the page and made me laugh, catch my breath and happy sigh. I love these characters with all of my madly beating heart, and I think you will too.
