Cinderella’s Charade with the Duke by Jeanine Englert

A few words from author Jeanine Englert…

I am thrilled to share my first Regency romance, Cinderella’s Charade with the Duke, with Mills & Boon readers this month! I hope they will fall in love with unassuming governess Hattie and the ever-dutiful widower, William, as they navigate what happens when their one-night charade for her to pretend to be his intended, a Lady Penelope Denning, turns into far more than they bargained for.

– Jeanine

Jeanine’s Editor, Charlotte Says…

Jeanine Englert’s first foray into Regency romance is a triumph! Hattie and William are two extra special characters who could do with a fairytale ending – and that’s exactly what they get…with a few bumps along the way. But that only makes it all the more interesting and page-turningly enchanting!

Business Between Enemies by Louise Fuller

A few words from author Louise Fuller

Writing romance in the third person is great fun for an author. Tapping into your hero and heroine’s thoughts creates a deeper, richer understanding of their relationship while building a delicious dramatic tension. But as soon as I started plotting Business Between Enemies, I knew it was time to dip my toe into first person narration. It was a whole new world for me, and honestly, a little scary! But what I found was that writing in the first person made every held-breath-moment feel that little bit more real and immediate. For example, when Hennessy’s story begins – waking up to the FBI pounding on her door – I wasn’t just observing her; I was feeling her panic, her confusion, and her adrenaline was making my heart pound in time to hers. I hope that the thrill I felt writing this story is something you’ll feel, too, as you turn each page. Particularly in Hennessy’s charged encounters with Italian billionaire, Renzo Valetti, her devastatingly beautiful but disapproving nemesis.

Louise’s Editor, Jenny Says…

There’s a fine line between hate and desire…and no one knows that better than Hennessy and Renzo, the stars of Louise Fuller’s latest Modern romance. Forced to work with their enemy as co-CEOs, sparks inevitably fly – in both the boardroom and the bedroom! But will the sizzling proximity they find themselves in on a business trip to Italy let them see beyond their unflattering assumptions about each other? Business Between Enemies is a masterclass in delicious tension, scorching passion, and intense emotion. Grab a copy and buckle in for this rollercoaster workplace romance!

Their Christmas Pregnancy Shock by Annie O’Neil

A few words from author Annie O’Neil…

Writing this book was one of those magical concoctions composed of fantasy travel, magical Christmas and a hero, Felix, and heroine, Matti, who I just loved getting to know. Especially as one of them was on a mission to discoverer if an Emergency Centre could use the Scandinavian philosophy of hygge to their advantage. I originally come from a small American town that was founded by Scandinavians. I came up with the idea for the book while I was there, visiting my parents (and the local Scandinavian bakery…for research purposes, obviously!). Matti and Felix had some lessons to learn along the way, but learning them in the heart of Copenhagen seemed like a good way to begin to salve their wounds of the past to make way for the future…

A note on Annie’s Editor, Sheila Hodgson, from Bryony Green

This manuscript was edited by our beloved late Senior Editor, Sheila Hodgson, who passed away last month after a short illness. Author Annie says how Sheila was so wonderfully kind and insightful in drawing Annie’s eye to scenes that needed a richer emotional tapestry: ‘I have a tendency to get carried away with the action rather than the emotional motivation behind it and she was incredible at helping them draw out their emotions – all wrapped up in a hygge hug.’

The Best Christmas Choir Ever by Elizabeth Hrib

A few words from author Elizabeth Hrib…

One of my favourite parts of being an author is drawing from real-life experience, which I did while writing The Best Christmas Choir Ever. Inspired by my days as a nurse working in a care home with the elderly, I created a cast of sassy, singing senior citizens that are near and dear to my heart – think Pitch Perfect in a retirement home. I love a good holiday romance, and I’ve packed this one with all of my favourite things: swoony second-chance romance, gingerbread house shenanigans and Christmas carol hijinks! All Charlie and Julian have to do is put their past behind them and help the Glendale Shakers win a choir competition in order to save their music program. Charlie’s not convinced they can pull it off; luckily, Julian’s a ‘how hard could it be?’ kind of guy.

– Elizabeth

Elizabeth’s Editor, Stacy Says…

The Best Christmas Choir Ever is the perfect mix of quirky characters, holiday cheer, spicy romance, and singing senior citizens. Elizabeth Hrib brings her trademark warmth and wit to a story with so much heart it will warm you up when the snow is falling outside.
