Love to Write Shortlist: Meet Johanna McGuigan

We ran a Love to Write writing competition in conjunction with Prima magazine. The winner will get their book published by Mills & Boon and the first chapter of their book published in Prima’s September issue. We received a huge amount of very high level content. Our fabulous judges reviewed the submissions to find the next Mills & Boon bestseller. Now the judges have whittled down the entries to the fabulous top 8!

Meet Johanna McGuigan

… We fell for her carefree hero!

Name: Johanna McGuigan

Location: Bangor, County Down, Northern Ireland

Occupation: Marketing Manager

Why I love to write: I have loved reading and writing for as long as I can remember. As a little girl I used to go missing for hours on end and my parents would find me curled up in a corner reading. I was lost in the worlds of the March sisters, of Anne of Green Gables and Roald Dahl. My mum loved to tell her friends how I read “Gone with the Wind” when I was 11, and I have always been inspired to write stories because I love losing myself in new characters and places created by my imagination. I believe that your imagination is one of the greatest gifts you could ever receive. And as a very proud and blessed mummy of two incredible children, I love watching their little imaginations develop and thrive.
