Louise Allen Talks About Her Latest Book

Our lovely author Louise Allen talks about her latest book!

What was the inspiration for your latest book?

Some time ago I wrote two linked books about the Herriard family – Forbidden Jewel of India and Tarnished Amongst the Ton and a reader asked me when I would write the third about Sara, the daughter of the family. At the time, I was researching the Georgian seaside and this book is the result – Sara’s story by the sea.

Who is your ideal romantic hero?

I like intelligent men with a good sense of humour. My go-to real life model is Dr Michael Scott, historian and TV presenter.

What genre do you enjoy reading the most?

Historical romance and historical crime.

Tell us the best advice you were ever given as a writer?

Read everything you can get your hands on and write, write, write.

What advice would you give to aspiring romance writers?

Love your characters and write from your heart.

What’s next in store for your readers?

Marrying His Cinderella Countess – an independent heroine encounters an earl who is all too ready to judge by appearances.

We understand you have a collection of fans and Georgian prints.  Can you tell us more about this/where the fascination came from?

I began buying original prints for research and then got hooked by the beauty and the fascination of them. I collect almost anything 1780-1820 – fashion prints and London scenes in particular. The fans are so beautiful and sometimes quirky and holding them takes you right back to the women who first owned them.

Thank you, Louise, for taking the time to chat to us! Louise’s latest book Surrender To The Marquess is out NOW!
