Lynne Graham shares 10 things she’s learned writing 100 books.

Ten things I’ve learned through Writing One Hundred books

I can’t quite believe I’ve reached my 100th book for Mills & Boon Modern! It’s been an incredible experience, made all the more special by the wonderful editors, writers and readers I’ve met along the way.

I was asked to share what I discovered writing one hundred books, and it really made me sit and think. I feel that I’ve learnt so much from each and every book I’ve written but I’ve put my top ten favourite discoveries here just for you.

1)      I can plan and plot to my heart’s content, but every now and then my characters like to surprise me by doing the unexpected!

2)      Writing takes courage. Courage to make the first step, courage to pick yourself up from the floor after your first rejection, courage to listen to good advice and throw out half of the story if need be, and courage to rewrite.

3)      And whilst writing takes courage, love does too.  I do love writing about strong alpha males, but my husband is the only one I need.

4)      I can’t write a thing without coffee.

5)      My dogs are the best plotting partners I know. If I’m stuck in my writing, I take my three lovely dogs out for a walk and by the time I get back, my head is full of what to do next.

6)      Always keep your eyes open, you never know where you’ll find inspiration.

7)      Pintrest is absolutely wonderful. It’s amazing to be able to pull all the beautiful images that suit your story in one place and for people to access it and see them too is just fabulous.

8)      A good editor is invaluable.

9)      Writing is hard work and can be isolating. The friends that encourage and support you through this, the family members who understand that writing really is a full time job, are worth their weight in gold.

10)   That a happy-ever-after never gets old!

I hope that you’ve enjoyed some of my books along the way, but don’t miss my 100th book, Bought for the Greek’s Revenge out in June.

When my editor gave me cart blanch on the story, I couldn’t resist coming back to my favourite themes. There’s something about a mistress story – especially when the hero as is commanding and determined as Nikolai Drakos is!

Much love,

Lynne

Xx

Bedded for the Greek’s pleasure!

Ella Palmer has neither the money nor the connections to warrant the interest of Nikolai Drakos’s arch enemy. Yet the unassuming beauty has done just that – and claiming her will be Nikolai’s ultimate satisfaction!

The ruthless tycoon will use any means necessary to ensure Ella’s compliance so he buys out her family’s debts. Debts he’ll forgo if Ella becomes his mistress. But when he discovers the true extent of her innocence, Nikolai is forced to consider something new; it appears the indomitable Greek is about to take a bride!

Congratulations Lynne Graham on OVER 35 MILLION copies sold worldwide with Mills & Boon!
