MOTY2016 Up Close & Personal: Meet David F

Today in our quest to get to know our Man Of The Year contenders, we’re talking to David F who admits some pretty deep thoughts on life, love and the universe. We particularly love the way he named his son…

What was your motivation for entering this competition?

To redefine and reshape societies idea of the perfect guy, and fashion a new brand of celebritythe modern day family man.

What’s your definition of a modern day hero?

I think a modern day hero is anyone who makes time to help another, supporting and encouraging those less fortunate, and who can provide for those they love through hard work and determination.

What’s the most heroic thing you’ve ever done?

I regularly fundraise for Dreams Come True, a national charity that helps children and young people with serious and life-limiting conditions fulfil their dreams.

How would your friends describe you in less than ten words?

A kind, compassionate, optimistic and ambitious family man.

What’s your idea of a perfect date?

I’d cook a meal, serve it by candlelight, and offer her a choice of delicious desserts. After, I’d let her chose a movie, whip up two hot chocolates with marshmallows and cream, and tuck us underneath a thick woollen blanket by the fire.

When was the last time you cried?

The last time I cried was 19 months ago when my beautiful baby boy was born and I got to hold him in my arms for the first time.

What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done for someone?

I booked a surprise spa weekend in Winchester, with massages, dinner and breakfast in bed the next morning.

Tell us a secret – something we’d never guess about you.

I named my son after a main character in the TV series Prison Break.

What’s your biggest fear?

My biggest fear is losing my family and everything I have worked so hard to achieve.

Do you believe in destiny? Tell us why, or why not.

Yes I do! I believe there’s a number of pathways for us to choose from in life, but ultimately, they all lead to the same destination.

If you could change the world one step at a time, where would you start?

I would start by teaching humanity to the children of the world: to be kind, compassionate and giving. To treat their friends as equals, not to hate, or discriminate.

If someone made a movie of your life, who would play you and why?

Zac Efron. Because he’s versatile, good-looking, and played the humble romantic faultlessly in The Lucky One.

What a guy! If you want David F as your Man Of The Year 2016 and to see him on the cover of our Valentine’s Day book, vote for him now!
