#SummerSizzler Weekend Perfect Picnics

Every week should be picnic weather during the summer…and with all of the great British spots to visit you are spoilt for choice. Be a spontaneous #summersizzler this weekend – grab a blanket, a bottle of something fizzy and the hand of someone you love and head down to one of our top ten favourite romantic locations! 

Clumber Park
NOTTINGHAMSHIRE
If you’re a nature-lover, Clumber Park is the place for you. Parkland, heath and woods make up the 3,800 acres of gorgeous parkland. With its lush greenery and wildlife the once country estate of the Duke of Newcastle is the perfect place for barbecues, horse riding and picnics. You can also visit the Gothic-style chapel where you will be treated to superb sights and scents.

Winkworth Arboretum
SURREY
This beautiful woodland is owned by the National Trust. The arboretum leads down to a lake, where there is an old boathouse with information on the local flora and fauna. There are lots of great spots to picnic and the trees will provide the perfect shade.

Brownsea Island

Brownsea Island
A peaceful, car-free island nestled in the arc of Poole Harbour. Take a ferry to its pretty sandy beaches and grassy flats, and enjoy the gorgeous harbour views.

Padley Gorge
DERBYSHIRE
This enchanting fairy-tale gorge is filled with twining tree roots, foaming waters, gigantic boulders and is home to many species of rare birds. There are many clearings and flat leafy areas making this an ideal picnic spot.

Fell Foot Park
CUMBRIA
Found on the southern tip of Lake Windermere, the sandy shores in Fell Foot Park provide a scenic spot for a picnic. There is something for the whole family from views of the lake to rowing boats for hire.

Avon Valley Country Park
BRISTOL
Covering 50 acres of beautiful countryside, this country park adjoins the tranquil River Avon. There are peaceful riverside trails with beautiful picnic spots along the way for a relaxing day in the sun.

Wellington Country Park
BERKSHIRE
Set in 350 acres of stunning Berkshire countryside, Wellington Country Park is a perfect picnic spot to enjoy with your family. There are beautiful nature trails and lakeside walks, which will give you the opportunity to take in the wildlife in their natural habitat, and even to see red and fallow deer.

Blickling Hall

If you want somewhere to relax and unwind look no further than Croome Court. Sit near the lake or in the Island Pavilion, take in the surroundings and unwind to the sounds of birds and wildlife. If you want to explore there are exciting walking trails.

Sheffield Park Garden
EAST SUSSEX
Sheffield Park hosts four lakes in its expansive outdoor estate where you can unwind amongst summer flowers. You can explore the garden, parkland trails and enjoy the wildlife, which includes a variety of birds, dragonflies and butterflies.
