Flirty Fiction shortlist – Rachael Mills

Back in January Prima magazine launched our Flirty Fiction writing competition to win a publishing contract. After hundreds of entries our panel of judges have managed the difficult task of deciding on an exciting shortlist. In the weeks running up to the announcing the winner, we thought you might like to know a little more about each of the shortlisted authors.

Rachael Mills
@remills89

What is the title of your story?
The Chocolate Teapot.

Can you tell us about your story?
A heart-warming tale about life, home and friends … with a generous helping of sweet treats and romance.

What Do You Do?
I’m currently in my final year of an English Literature degree. I graduate this summer but plans beyond that are up in the air at the moment!

Where do you live?
I live in Alnwick, Northumberland. My parents own a tearoom at the rear of the house so it’s a wonderful place to live!

Have you ever written anything before?
This is the first time I’ve written anything like this so I’m overwhelmed to have been shortlisted.

When did you read your first Mills & Boon?
When I was about 12-years-old, I found a battered copy of Violet Winspear’s The Honey is Bitter on my mother’s bookshelf and was hooked on the story by the end of the first page!

Lynne Graham - The Sheikh's Secret Babies

Who is your favourite Mills & Boon author and why?
There are so many to choose from that it’s almost an impossible task! The author I read the most is probably Lynne Graham as her characters are so well-crafted.

What would you do if you won?
Probably pinch myself to check I’m not dreaming!

The winner and the first chapter of their book will be exclusively revealed in the August issue of Prima magazine available from 3 July 2015.
